The Cutter in the Cutting Department is responsible for cutting mineral fiber with a band saw, based on specification sheets detailing quantities and sizes, to be used in the pad set manufacturing process.



  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

  • One year experience in production or manufacturing facility preferred, but not required.

  • Some experience with a band saw in a production or manufacturing facility preferred, but not required.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Must have the ability to work physically onsite at R.N.C.

  • Must be able to lift 70 pounds (lbs.) alone several times a day to move bundled mineral fiber from pallets to the work area/table.

  • Must possess a positive attitude and contribute to a harmonious working environment.

  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively in English with peers, supervisors, and upper management to achieve the following results:

    • Adhere to company policies;
    • Provide job status updates regarding daily work activities;
    • Add value by offering solutions to problems; and
    • Accept and build upon constructive feedback from peers, supervisors, and upper management.
  • Must have the ability to read and prepare paperwork in English at R.N.C. to accomplish the following results:

    • Read and understand Cut Work Orders, Bundle Cut Sheets, and Cut Sheets and inspect them for accuracy.
    • Fill out the Bundle Cut Sheet as an order is being cut using “tally mark” notations (example: IIII);
    • Fill out the Cut Work Order with the correct information when cutting is complete; and
    • Log the sizes and pieces cut into the Production Book.
  • Must have the ability to visually conduct band saw inspections as follows:

    • Check the fence, band saw blade, and table for squareness with a framing square;
    • Verify accuracy of the measuring tape on the band saw table by comparing it to a hand-held calibrated tape measure;
    • Inspect frame, table legs, and table top for any cracked or broken parts;
    • Inspect the band saw blade for missing teeth and dullness;
    • Ensure the band saw equipment does not have any loose wires; and
    • Listen for any unusual noises when the band saw is powered on.
  • Must have the ability to work the following schedule, or as needed by the company:

    • A set four (4) day work-week, Monday through Thursday;
    • Overtime hours beyond the normal 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM work day and/or on holidays and weekends;
    • Adhere to break start and stop times;
    • Attend meetings on time; and
    • Attend all training sessions.
  • Must have the ability to adhere to, observe, follow, read, and understand the following safety rules and company policies:

    • Wear safety glasses when in the warehouse;
    • Maintain a clean work area;
    • Keep work area organized and free of stray pallets and other trip hazards;
    • Check to be sure all equipment and tools are in good condition;
    • Notify the manager of any electrical, mechanical, or human health concerns;
    • Report any safety concerns to the manager;
    • Adhere to customer requirements;
    • Follow policies in Employee Handbook; and
    • Adhere to appearance/dress codes.
  • Clean the kitchen and bathroom on the assigned days; and

  • Dump the trash every day.
